    Description

    Native to India, Black Moong is one of the most easily digestible lentil and an excellent source of protein, thus making it highly suitable for babies and older people. 


    In fact, sprouts of Moong Beans are high in protein (21%-28%), calcium and phosphorus. Flour from whole or sprouted Moong Beans are excellent in nutrition for infants, lactating mothers, and special needs patients.

    The Amino Acid (Protein) Profile of Black Moong is similar to that of Soybeans.






    Cooking Instructions

    1. Soak Split Black Moong for 30 mins.
    2. Remove water, rinse and cook as Dal or in a curry with vegetables.

    History

    Native to India where it was domesticated as early as 1500 BC. Cultivated Moong beans were then introduced to southern and eastern Asia, Africa, Austronesia, the Americas and West Indies.
