Kalyan Sona is a Semi Dwarf variety developed by Norman E. Borlaug in Mexico in 1963. Introduced in India as Kalyan Sona & Sonalikaa during Green Revolution for their high yielding properties

OOO Farms' Kalyan Sona is grown 3000 ft above sea level in the Sahyadri mountain range. The variety provided by OOO Farms is the one which the tribal farmers in the Sahyadris have grown for over two generations using the same seeds i.e. instead of buying the seeds every year, they have saved them and cultivated them in a way that it has gone to its mother seed pre-hybridization.

Kalyan Sona aids digestion since it is rich in fibre. It is also rich in essential minerals like selenium, manganese, phosphorus, copper and B-vitamin.
